Business Class Immigration allows self-employed persons that have the intention and ability to create their own employment and make a significant contribution to the cultural, artistic or athletic life of Canada to immigrate to Canada. Self-employed persons with a Canada Immigration visa also have the option to purchase and manage a farm in Canada.
Only immigrants who have been self-employed in cultural activities or in athletics, or have participated at a world class level in cultural activities or in athletics or have farm management experience are eligible within the Class.
You must have either
1. at least two years of the relevant experience in cultural activities or athletics, and
- intend and be able to make a significant contribution to the cultural or athletic life of Canada, or
2. experience in farm management, and
- intend and be able to buy and manage a farm in Canada.
You will then be assessed against five selection criteria and a point system. You must obtain a minimum of 35 points
if you want to immigrate to Canada as a business immigrant.
Add to this, if you can score the age and education points, you can easily reach a minimum pass mark. Language skills are not the minimum requirement, however, the ability to communicate and work in one or both of Canada’s official languages is very important to you as a self-employed person. Proficiency in English, French or both will help you in the Canadian labor market.
You must provide the level of language proficiency, designated language test result, to prove your language skills when you are requested the test result by CIC.
- English: IELTS(General Training test only) / CELPIP (General test only)
- French: TEF

The processing time takes about a year and half and it will vary according to the condition and policy of Citizenship and Immigration Canada
