    Federal Skilled Trade Program
    The Federal Skilled Trades Program is for people who want to become
    permanent residents based on being qualified in a skilled trade.
    If you want to come to Canada as a skilled immigrant,
    your first step is to become a candidate in the Express Entry pool.


    The Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) allows individuals who have at least two years of full-time work experience with job offers or appropriate certification to work in certain occupations to obtain Canadian permanent residence in any Canadian province or territory other than Quebec.
    Eligibility Criteria
    Skilled work experience
    - You must have at least two years of full-time work experience (or an equal amount of part-time work experience)
       in a skilled trade (eligible occupation under major and minor groups of the NOC) within the five years.
    - You must have an offer of full-time employment for a total period of at least one year or a certificate of
       qualification in that skilled trade issued by a Canadian provincial or territorial authority.
    - You must plan to live outside the province of Quebec (Note: The province of Quebec selects its own skilled
       workers.

    Education
    There is no education requirement for the Federal Skilled Trades Program.
